Several discarded LCD computer monitors hang from the ceiling with their inner pieces expanding out like a small technological Big Bang. Though being in a state of progressive decay, the screens are functioning and showing archival footage of Word documents, spreadsheets, Facebook posts and screensavers on idle computers. These devices were discarded to be replaced by other flatter and more stylized screens. 60Hz is presented as an electronic "vanitas", where digital technology no only displaces the analog, but also destroys earlier versions of its own electronic legacy.
The title of the work alludes to the refresh rate of pixels on LCD monitors (60 times per second) that eliminated the flickering experienced in television screens from the past.
