Solo exhibition commissioned by the Fundación Canal, with the concept of water as the driving force.
The show comprised the works Vortex, Tide, Flow, Tajo , Pressure, and Drift.
“Vortices” was inspired by the Great Pacific Garbage Vortex, a vast accumulation of marine debris floating at or just below the surface of the Pacific Ocean. This waste patch, which is almost the size of the European continent, will not only remain where it is for the foreseeable future but is also growing at an alarming rate, fueled by the global production and disposal of plastics.
The Great Pacific Garbage Vortex is an environmental disaster that is only beginning to unfold.
